We get it. Life is difficult, and some months are harder than others – especially if you’re student. When you’re barely getting enough sleep, and spend your day running from one task to the other or stress eating unhealthy food, it can have a serious toll on your skin.
Even though you can’t stop the stress, in most cases, Â you can work on controlling how you react to it And here is how:
- Hydrate
-Chances are, when you’re busy you are going to forget to eat and drinking properly. And when your body is dehydrated it doesn’t function properly. Â Drinking water reduces the level of cortisol (stress hormone) in your body and will keep your body operating better - Develop a bed time routine
-This is an important way to help your body unwind. Studies show that your body is better rested when you take the time to slow down towards the end of your day. Try developing a self-care routine to pamper yourself each and every night, and help relieve yourself of stress. - Exercise
-It can be hard to imagine doing anything else when your schedule is so jam-packed. But trust us, you’re going to want to exercise. Not only will it help reduce the stress in your life, but it will also increase your efficiency and clarity. - Don’t sleep with makeup on!
-This is an all-the-time rule, but when you’re stressed it can be easy to be neglectful of your skin care routine. Take the time to properly clean your skin each and every night, and be thorough. Higher levels of stress are often correlated to breakouts. Being mindful of your cleansing habits can help minimize that.
And most importantly – don’t forget to breathe.
